Sutro Property Management

I would be really careful as you sign a lease with them! We found an apartment we loved, but the second we asked about how we could communicate with them in writing, they got hostile and aggressive. Forrest said “they would never put something in writing” and totally gaslit me. Every other management company has a way for you to communicate with them that leaves a paper trail—thus protecting you as a tenant.

I had a great experience working with Sutro Property Management. They’re by far the most professional and accountable property management company I’ve encountered in San Francisco. Their team is organized, efficient, and consistently delivers. They always giving over 24 hours’ notice and follow through on every commitment without fail. No dropped balls, no excuses. I’ve worked with several property managers in the city, and none come close to Sutro’s reliability and responsiveness. They clearly care about both tenants and owners. Highly recommend!

I'm not one to take time out of my day to write negative reviews and I am generally pretty easy going about this sort of stuff but the way this property management company has treated this building and its residents is simply atrocious. I've lived at one of the buildings Sutro manages for about ten years now. When I first moved in Rob was the manager and there weren't any issues. Since he has sold (part?) of the company to Salman - things have considerably gone down hill. I recently contacted Salman (which I dread since the last time I had a problem with a broken disposal he was trying to get me to fix it myself?) about the aging carpets in my apartment. They were old when I moved in ten years ago so I thought it was reasonable to see if he could replace the carpets or put in fake hard wo

I had a good experience as a tenant. Salman was responsive and fixed issues promptly. He offered a walk through my apartment when I moved out and I was returned my security deposit in full.
