Sunset Shadows

I lived at Sunset Shadows from September 2023 to September 2025. I originally chose this property because I needed something under $1,000, and this was one of the few options available at the time. I did a blind lease, and when I arrived on move-in day, I was very disappointed. The unit I received was filthy—there were dead roaches inside kitchen drawers and under the sinks, the bathtub and walls were dirty, and the carpet was stretched out and stained. I had to request that the unit be re-cleaned, which still took days to address. The apartment itself (I lived in unit 232, a “classic” style) was small and outdated—popcorn ceilings, mismatched appliances, and overall in poor condition. My daughter just moved out her to Houston from California. We we told she wasn’t going to be able to move into the apartment until Thursday . We waited until Thursday and we were very unhappy with the inside of the “ Newly Renovated” apartment. Very disappointed. We have had to call the office almost everyday we’ve been here because of different issues that are not fixed. Also there are ROACHES. I will be looking to call upper management regarding these issues. Really they deserve no stars. 1 star is really over doing it

⭐☆☆☆☆ Warning: Predatory Fines and Invasive Management Practices I’ve lived here for a while, but the recent changes to management policies have been downright alarming. Residents are now being threatened with daily fines up to $250 for things like leaving shoes, patio furniture, coolers, or even outdoor sports gear on their own private patios. Not everyone likes shoes that have been all outdoors in their living room! Management has begun enforcing daily inspections and issuing fines without warning, using vague rules like “any item deemed unacceptable by management.” What does that even mean? Apparently, even hanging clothes or rugs to dry (on an outdoor patio!) is now a $100 offense. If you care about tenant rights, privacy, or just the ability to use the space you pay for—think twice

The visit at Sunset Shadows was super pleasing with all the leasing staff. Community is really clean. I love living here!

Leasing the appartment was a fairly quick and easy process. I will comeback and update once I move in. Friday
