Stratford Hills Apartments

I lived in Stratford through most of my undergraduate years and had an amazing time. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a place to live. I never went without a question unanswered, everyone in the front is amazing, helpful, and extremely sweet. The location is convenient and close to Franklin street and the UNC Campus. The apartment has available bus stops near both Bolinwood and MLK locations for easy travel.

Based on other reviews I was hesitant to call the office inquiring about an apartment for next year for my daughter who is a student at UNC. I’m glad I didn’t let other reviews dissuade me. I spoke first to Rebecca who was very pleasant and explained all the differences in floor plans and sites (there is one complex off of MLK and one on Bolinwood). Website is unclear which floor plans are at which location so it is a tad confusing. Rebecca explained the differences and the process for applying. I had to call back the next day after my daughter started the application process (and ran into questions) and got Pam. She was just as helpful and pleasant as Rebecca. She even proposed my daughter coming into the office and having them help her with her application. My daughter went today and had

Pros: The grounds are beautiful with lots of old growth trees, the greenway is right outside your door, and you can bike to campus or to Eastgate to go shopping. The NU and NS buses stop nearby, and it's about a 25 minute walk to campus (up a steep hill). The pool is huge, the apartments are a good size, with lots of natural light. All the residents I met were really nice, a good mix of students, young adults, and families. Maintenance was generally pretty good. Cons: The apartment manager Pam, is mean-spirited and finds joy in enforcing overbearing rules. For example, policing women's bathing suits and threating to tow your car for any reason at all. I lived here my junior and senior year at CH. Rebecca is literally the most wonderful leasing office employee you could ever ask for. She is well-organized, and always stays on top of what's going on in the complex. She does a great job of making sure repairs are done in a timely fashion. The complex is a bit expensive for how dated the apartments are, but honestly the location is great and you're paying to live under a really wonderful leasing office. I miss my time here.

Stratford Apartment has been my home for almost 10 years. I have made many wonderful memories here. Great management team. Highly recommend.
