Stone Ridge Apartment Homes

I have lived here for 2 1/2 years as of January 2015. The complex is very quiet, reasonably maintained (issues are quickly addressed), and fairly spacious with two courtyards in which my boyfriend and I have enjoyed grilling dinner in the summer (we live on the second floor, so this is a good option for us). The community garden gets a lot of sunlight, the walk to Owen Conservation Park and Garner Park is short, and the current manager is very accommodating. The only reason I would leave Stone Ridge is if we decided to buy a house or if my job took me elsewhere.

Management changed in April or so of 2013. I have a studio, nothing fancy. The place is old and but everything works fine. What I do like is how quiet and peaceful it is. I can not hear the neighbors, no noisy cars in the lot. Plenty of parking (next to the entry even) and no extra fee for the parking. The heating is baseboard electric so it can get expensive. Air conditioner worked great, looked brand new, and the apartment cooled down quickly and the summer electrical bill was next to nothing even with cooling it. If you don't mind older apartments, it was clean when I moved in and have not had any probelms. Management seems great now.

DO NOT RENT HERE!!! The management is atrocious and several complaints were made and not resolved in the entire year I lived there. Complaints: • When I moved into the apartment in July 2012, I reported to the apartment manager at the time that the spare bedroom closet reeked of cat urine. I was told that the previous tenant used that closet to hold the litter pan for her cat(s). The carpet was removed and temporary carpet squares were placed in the closet. The floorboards still reeked of urine. I informed the apartment manager that, due to feline nature, my cats will also urinate in those spots or as close as they can get to claim the area as “their territory” if it was not resolved. Nothing was done by the apartment management to remedy the situation, and my cats proceeded to urin

The property manager Jessie is a good guy. Carlos who is the maintance guy doesn''t fix certain request that he will get. If he does it will be weeks or a month. There is other reviews about how they don't fix things and that's Carlos. Sometimes He will and sometimes he won't because its just him and he doesn't care to have help. He can also gossip about other tenants. I lived there for a long time and I only moved out because I needed a change of scenery. Not because of maintance requests. If you do need maintance work go to Carlos boss or put the order in. Also stay clear of the tenant with the Garden on the corner. She will call the cops if you like to smoke pot. Even on Christmas.

Horrible management,Faircrest Mngmt. Still Faircrest. Worst management company in Madison. Check out Faircrest Mngmt Google reviews, that is who you rent from at Stone Ridge. Too bad, the property is nice and with some updates the complex could be great. One small problem, they do not update, repair or fix things. And good luck getting your security deposit back from that crazy office manager, Nan. Sooner or later karma will catch up and this company will be busted. Hopefully sooner than later. One star was a gift, they dont deserve one.
