Sterling Place Apartments

Sterling Apartments ended up being a blessing for my partner and I. With previous treatment from other rental properties, Tanya the property manager of Sterling took us in and welcomed us with open arms. Tanya has made the living experience here easy and comfortable. Her office door being opened to always talk and listen. She helped us tremendously in a hardship. The place is beautiful. I love the sound of the train. Only con is parking. We are looking forward to our new chapter in a home. This place was home to us for a year.

08/02/2021: Originally rated Sterling Place 4 stars shortly after moving in. After living there for just under 18 months, I would drop them to 3 stars. Overall, a nice place to live, with some perks. including the pet friendly policy, in-unit laundry, and access to the train station. Unfortunately, the pandemic made access to the train basically useless, and most of our time living there was a sheltered experience. The overall price of living in our apartment was a bit pricey, especially seeing as our dishwasher never quite worked correctly and had a knack for growing mold. I've been here about 8 months now and Sterling Place is a really nice place to live and I love my unit. I have 2 dogs and the unit has plenty of space to accommodate all our needs. With the team in place, Tanya and the maintenance staff are very nice and responsive, and has been quick to respond to any work orders. Location is great, right by the commuter rail, which I take all the time to Boston, it is literally a 5 minute walk. And no there is no loud train noise when it pulls in. (That was one of my questions). If I had to think of a con it would be that parking is a little bit crazy. It is assigned parking, which is great no fighting for a spot, but the overall lot is so small that it's tough to have multiple cars. (1 car per person on the lease, up to 2 cars). Do you want to schedule an appointment to view an apartment? Do you want a copy of your lease agreement? Do you want management to stay out of your business? Do you want your security deposit back when you have no issues with your inspection? Do you ever want to talk to an actual person? Do you want predictable hours for the office to be open? If the answer to any of those questions is yes, avoid any Peabody Properties location at all costs. In order to get a hold of a leasing agent to ask a simple question about renewing our lease, I had to call the district manager three times. Needless to say we did not renew our lease. Don't let the pretty pictures fool you, this place has some of the worst service I have ever seen.

My experience has been a lot better than the other reviews this complex has garnered would indicate. There are some new people in the leasing office and they've been courteous and responsive, easy to speak with on the phone and repairs have been conducted faster. I've an 18 month lease and I'm moving on soon, to be closer to work, but it hasn't been a painful experience to live here. We have had some minor hiccups (a broken dishwasher). When we first moved in we found the management uncomfortable- we signed the lease with the previous agent and found her brusk and difficult, but since she's left any interactions I've had have been normal and conversational. I'm pretty easy going, but I understand where the other, negative reviews are coming from-- however, the complex has improved since th
