am submitting this complaint to address the extremely unprofessional, deceptive, and negligent business practices of Southern Way Realty. This company consistently fails to meet basic housing standards, and tenants across numerous properties are experiencing serious health and safety hazards. On a daily basis, renters report issues in these homes that are not up to code and are blatantly disregarded by management. Many of these properties are rat- and roach-infested, and Southern Way Realty refuses to properly resolve these problems. You cannot fix a rodent infestation when there are visible holes in the walls stuffed with foam insulation instead of performing the required structural repairs. Will take half your security deposit regardless of the condition you leave the home. Although not required to this is the first business I have rented from that did not pro-rate the last months rent (moved out first week of the month and paid the full month). House was infested with roaches and the ceiling literally fell in and they took every bit of the allowed time to get it fixed and while functionally repaired aesthetically it was again just enough. Does the complete bare minimum for their tenant, and nothing more.

First time renting through this company and thought it would be a good experience but turnt out to be wrong. Hardly want to fix anything in the house I was renting. When they did come it took over a week or two to do so. In addition to discover the house had a horrible roach problem that I’m pretty sure they already knew about that we didn’t know of until months later, I called them about that. They said I would have to pay for that through my own expense. Bombed the house 3 times that didn’t do any justice. Eventually I just stopped cooking and ate out till my lease was up. Nothing helped. Last day comes to move we move all of our stuff and return the key. I’ve had to call these folks every week about my deposit. As I'm sure most of you already know by now reading your reviews that southern way realty is the most unprofessional and unreliable place to rent. Been renting these guys for 6 years you have to beg for them to come out and fix anything and it's always somebody different and it's always a Band-Aid. Came home to a 30-day notice to evict the property. My kids literally just started school 2 weeks ago. This place cannot be more unprofessional. I begged them to swap out the fan in the bathroom so this mold will quit growing. Instead I have to grab the walls once a month.

I rented 1924 43rd Ave. I noticed it's back on the market and my review was removed so let me get it back out there. After multiple disagreements with the realtor, we were told to be out by the end of May. We moved out at the end of March and were charged a $2500 early termination fee. While the lease says there will be an early termination fee (but no amount), we were charged for April’s rent also so the only rent I’d owe beyond that would be May’s. That does not constitute a $2500 charge. This is only the beginning. If you do decide to lease a home from them, bring a lawyer with you to go through the lease with a fine toothed comb.
