Somerfield at Lakeside Apartments

My experience at Somerfield at Lakeside was consistently frustrating. I reported several serious issues over the course of my lease, including a smoking AC unit, a persistent roach infestation, and secondhand smoke entering my apartment that aggravated asthma symptoms. None of these were resolved in a timely or effective way. What made this worse was the constant back-and-forth with management. Communication was inconsistent, and I was repeatedly redirected between staff instead of anyone taking clear responsibility. Maintenance was consistently slow, and I was pressured by a supervising staff member to leave positive reviews for work that wasn’t done well. The final straw happened during move-out. While my family and I were still cleaning and removing our last trash, I overheard a this same staff member Tony outside making rude and insulting comments about us — not realizing I was inside still. If I could leave negative stars, I would. When I first moved into Somerfield Apartments and got the keys to my unit, it was absolutely filthy. The floors were so dirty that our feet were black after just walking around — we had to deep clean the entire place ourselves. There were cracks in the floorboards, gaps in the windows, and most of the appliances barely worked. Submitting work orders gets you nowhere; you’re lucky if anyone ever shows up. The office is constantly closed, even during posted hours, and trying to reach the property manager is nearly impossible — she’s never available or responsive. Jaime is the best! He always takes care of our service requests in a timely manner and comes in with such a friendly and positive attitude. He knows us by name and always makes sure to greet us with a smile. We are so grateful to have his help and very grateful our paths crossed. We appreciate everything you do for us, Jaime!

The maintenance team is always a great help. Tony Acosta is one of the supervisors and is always personable, professional and goes the extra mile to making sure any and all maintenance issues are taken care of asap.
