Sofia's Place Townhomes

This was one of the worst housing experiences I have ever had. There is no on site maintenance and constant maintenance issues, including multiple roof and AC unit leaks. It got so bad that I had buckets placed around the house collecting water while paying almost $2,400 a month. I also had two refrigerators in my unit for over a year because instead of fixing the actual problem, management repeatedly sent new contractors to provide quotes. Several contractors even told me the buildings were poorly constructed. When something was “repaired,” it was usually a temporary patch rather than a real fix. Safety was also a major concern. The three bedroom townhomes do not have garage doors, which led to multiple attempted car thefts. I experienced seven attempts before I finally reached my limit.

I just moved into Sophia’s Place after shopping around a bunch of places in Chattanooga, and I’m really happy with my choice. The townhomes are nice, the price is great for what you get, and the staff has been super easy to work with. I saw some older reviews before moving in, but I haven’t had any of those issues — it’s been a smooth experience all around.

The new management, Renu is great! Ever since they took over the gate is fixed, trash has been cleaned up. They are so easy to get a hold of and are able to help me right away. So much better!!

Car break-ins happen all the time here, even if you don’t have anything in your car. Gates break all the time and the fence is a joke. The 3 bedroom apartments don’t have garage doors. People just leave open food/garbage on the ground next to the dumpster. Management will charge you for maintenance if it is deemed not necessary. Buildings are wonky too, breakers trip all the time, doors close weird. It’s just not worth what you’re paying for. We hate it here.

I would give this place a 0/10 if I could. Gate never works and the buildings were cheaply built and less than 6 months after moving in there’s already tons of water damage. So many people got their cars broken into and the cops were always coming in and out because of crime. Lots of homeless too.
