Smith Management

The staff at Smith really go above and beyond--even if you do not live in the building! I had not lived at 20 N Blair for over seven years. Despite this fact, when two of my packages were sent there by mistake, Chris and the other staff took it upon themselves to send them to me immediately, as soon as I contacted them. I was so worried when I called that they would say there was nothing they could do! But they went out of their way to make two different trips to USPS and get my packages to me ASAP. They were so communicative and helpful--truly neighborly from thousands of miles away!

Just signed a lease here, Brittany Chavarria was wonderful, very quick to respond to emails and set up a tour. She was also very knowledgeable of the property we were looking at and was helpful at all the steps we needed to take to get moving on signing the lease as quickly as possible. The quick response time from Brittany is what really goes above and beyond to me, housing in Madison during this time of the year is very stressful as students are required to sign quickly, so Brittany being able to be on top of responses made this process so easy and stress free. I am fairly confident this lease will live up to the great service I’ve received so far!

Overall Smith Management was great to work with when I lived there August 2011-August 2013. Very professional staff and good customer service. T hey do charge high amounts for pet fees, and cleaning can be expensive if you don't clean your apartment after your lease ends. I thoroughly cleaned my apartment after my lease, so I never had any issues getting my full security deposit back. They completed maintenance requests within twenty-four hours, kept hall ways and the garage at Old Market Row in good shape, and were easy to work with. Compared to other management companies I have rented with in Madison, they are wonderful.

I lived at the Diplomat for three years and never had a problem with Smith Management. Maintenance requests were quickly fulfilled, email responses were always fast. And I got back my full security deposit from both units I lived in. Would definitely live in a Smith Management property again if given the chance.

I have been living at 134 N. Orchard St. for 2 years now but will not be re-signing as I am graduating and will be moving away. I would like to thank everyone at Smith management for making the past two years so enjoyable! All the maintenance members of Smith management were extremely friendly and prompt with their work. I had minimal problems during my time here as well. I wish there was an online method for collecting rent checks as they still accept paper checks for rent. The laundry room was always cleaned and worked well. This was also a great apartment due to their minimal cat fees. The location on campus cannot be beaten if you study engineering or have class anywhere near the Union South area. The rent price at 134 N. Orchard St. also cannot be beaten for the location!
