​I have lived at Sky55 for two years now, and the time has absolutely flown by. What truly sets this place apart is the incredible sense of community and the diversity and friendly residents. ​The management team, especially Christine Hydel, is nothing short of amazing—they are attentive and genuinely care about the resident experience. Maintenance shout out to Carlos is phenomenal and incredibly quick to respond, and the security staff is always friendly and helpful, which makes a huge difference in feeling at home. If it were up to me, I’d never leave! Choosing Sky55 is the best decision you can make for your next home.

I moved into SKY55 in December 2024, and within less than a year, I’ve had to submit multiple maintenance requests for issues that should never occur in a so-called “luxury” building. Just a sample of what I’ve dealt with: Washer leaking tremendous amounts of water (Dec 2024) No hot water (Jan 2025) Persistent sewer gas smell in my apartment (May 2025) Damaged outlet and falling plaster/paint chips (May 2025) Kitchen sink leaking (July 2025) Slow-draining shower, broken stove light, filter replacements, broken balcony door handle, and more (2025) In addition to constant repairs, the appliances and fixtures are severely outdated. The thermostat is decades old, with only two settings, which makes it challenging to regulate the temperature efficiently and leads to higher utility bills.

I had a meeting here with some colleagues and the property is stunning! The room we met in had amazing views, a pool table, so much seating for any purpose really. The views of the lake are some of the best in Chicago! Love this place.

Coming to SKY 55 was a huge move for me. I moved from the home I grew up in to my first apartment here in the city. Everything involved in living in an apartment is new for me. I always have questions. Everyone has been very kind and patient. I felt welcome right away. The building is beautiful. The location is fabulous. Dr. Bonnie Jean Adams
