As a homeowner, I entrusted our property to Advantage Gold. After one year, we found it totally trashed. Turns out, renters are poorly vetted, and the property was checked (briefly) only once despite red flags. After we found it trashed, we were treated as if we were the renters. The WORST customer service. DO NOT trust your home with this company. Huge let down! And after Advantage Gold took their cut from the security, we were left with little and had to eat the cost of floor replacement. No apologies – nothing. AVOID!!!!

This review is for Advantage "Gold" Realty in Jacksonville, NC who changed their company name here on Google reviews to "Sherri A. Mayes" in an attempt to obfuscate and hide their company from being easily located and recognized. To anyone considering these people for anything whatsoever, please take heed of their overwhelmingly bad reviews online here and elsewhere. Their ratings are even worse when you consider that you must rate them at least "1 star", regardless of your experience. They do not even deserve that. I have owned a home for over six years in an HOA that they “manage” the property for. Three years ago my ex and I rented from Courtney at first it was great. But then I moved out because of a bad relationship. I asked Courtney to take me off the lease and she refused to so now bill that I owe because the ex decided to stay and was not paying the bills so I’m being held responsible even though Courtney knew that I moved out and still refused to take me off Lease. My ex messed the whole house up. Do not rent from this company they will mess you up.

Like all the other reviews they are a horrible business. Do not rent from them at all. When we moved into our rental house 3 years ago the carpets were disgusting and the entire house smelled like dog. I'm sure they took the previous renters deposit and did nothing in the home. They replaced 1 carpet! The house still smelled, and I had to get the carpets cleaned myself. The exhaust cover in a bathroom fell out of the ceiling onto my daughter's head and they charged us triple the price of the cover for it saying we damaged it when you could clearly see the clip was rotted and dried out. They charge an extra fee a month and claim to send you air filters to replace but they were the wrong size and when I contacted them about getting the right ones or taking off the fee it was ignored.

Rented for a family member and would email for the tenant pin to pay and never received but I’ll would get the late charge email, had to move out by the 31 by 5 or fine did not finish by 5 will talk to a lawyer if fined, so please look else where I did not do my homework and this is the mess I have
