Sheridan Terrace

I don't recommend living in this building. The walls are so thin that you can hear every step from the top floor. The person upstairs is only active at night. The creaking floor keeps me awake; I have insomnia. The building is poorly maintained, and the elevator has been out of order for two months. I've only lived here for three months, and when I moved in, all the blinds weren't working. I sent three requests to have them replaced, but no one from Horizon ever responded.

My experience is that Sheridan Terrace has been punctual and responsive in addressing many of my concerns. I appreciate that they are receptive to any issues I may have pertaining to my residence, such as maintenance and other requests. They have demonstrated an accountability and commitment to providing optimal service by ensuring that I and other residents are informed of the latest updates on the building through their communication. Lastly, I especially value the location, since the neighborhood is diverse and inclusive, providing a host of amenities and resources immediately accessible to anyone at Sheridan Terrace.

Management is not responsive, there are bugs and rodents in and out of the units + random odors that stink up the floors, the elevators consistently break, safety is not emphasized by the realty group, packages get stolen, maintenance barely knows how to fix a simple sink leak, the rent is ridiculous for the lack of amenities we get.

Giving this review as I’ve had issues with them for the last few months. I had a mold issue that took months to fix and wasn’t taken seriously until I repotted my doctor had done blood tests and found mold in my system. Also, there have been bugs which look like German cockroaches coming out from behind my cabinets. They take a long time to respond to maintenance requests, my tub also stopped draining and I was showering in standing water for about a month. I plan to move out once my lease is up, would not recommend.

[Review originally given August 2024—end of lease. Edited for typos.] I'd give Sheridan Terrace 3 to 3.5 stars overall. Things were (mostly) good, and I was pretty comfortable in my apartment. The location is good, too, but there were two pretty notable issues that left me wishy-washy with management. First, I had two packages stolen while I was away, and I was told nothing could be done about it. There *is* a locked mail room, but oftentimes, packages will be placed near the entrance for anyone to take. I understand people stealing isn't necessarily the fault of this place, but if you aren't comfortable with packages sitting out unsecured and want some more "firm" action from someone, you may want to look elsewhere.
