We spent two years living at one of the buildings managed by Lewis/Shapiro & Company. We were very happy with our two bedroom apartment. The building and the larger property was always kept clean and everything worked! Whenever there was a problem, which was rare, the management jumped on it quickly. All the staff there was very friendly, courteous and efficient. Communications were prompt and professional. To be honest, I didn't realize how exceptional the management was until I moved to another city and had to deal with building management there LOL. Keep up the good work, Lewis!

I have lived at Hampton House for 2 years and it is the best experience! The landlord, Lewis is always so friendly and truly cares about his residents and staff. The maintenance team are amazing - going above and beyond to quickly resolve issues and keep the building clean. I highly recommend Shapiro & Company/ Hampton House to anyone looking to rent an apartment in DC!!

I have been living at Hampton House for almost a year and it is by far the best property I have lived in both NYC and DC. The apartment is lovely - high ceilings, wood floors, lots of light. It is an old building so the walls are nice and thick, and I can’t hear my neighbors at all. No pest problems. The owner takes a lot of pride in the properties because they are family owned - you aren’t dealing with some nameless, faceless company. Management is on site and they are very attentive to the property’s upkeep. It is extremely clean and well cared for. Maintenance requests are handled immediately. And the building staff is great! If you are looking for an apartment in DC and you want to live somewhere that you will absolutely love, I recommend Hampton House.

Shapiro & Company were by far the best property management company I have ever had! I lived at the Hampton House for just over a year and during that time, they always responded to maintenance requests promptly and went above and beyond for their residents. My one-bedroom was spacious and had a ton of character. The common spaces in the building were always kept incredibly clean. Lew and everyone who works for Shapiro & Company are so kind and helpful. Lew & Oscar would even let me use the hose in the building to wash my bike after muddy gravel bike rides. Lew made a big effort to become pals with my dog, always giving him treats!

Hands down, it's the best building I've ever lived in, and I've lived all over the country. Lew and the kind, hardworking staff of this building do an amazing job of looking after the security and wellbeing of the residents here. The space is beautiful, maintained and requests are handled with speed and professionalism. They take pride in the good work they are doing with the building, grounds and tenants. Consider yourself lucky to get into one of their units!
