Shadowbrook Apartments

By nature, I’m not someone who usually leaves reviews for services or products I receive. However when it comes to a service that exceeded my expectations, it was only fair to give credit where it’s due. My family and I stayed in one of Shadowbrook’s apartments for a full year. From our very first day until the last, we were extremely happy and felt completely at ease. This began with the high level of professionalism displayed by the entire staff, without exception including the technicians, whom I deeply respect and admire for their dedication. I recently toured Shadowbrook as a future option as my move in date isn’t until October. I want to give special recognition to Emely. She provided clear, communication about the units and the amazing amenities, and it truly showed how much she cares about the residents at Shadowbrook. The fact that the team even leaves treats for residents during construction really proves how they go above and beyond. I highly recommend Shadowbrook and if you’re planning a tour, make sure to ask for Emely. She is truly amazing

Living here is constantly inconvenient. Yes, the maintenance resolution is fast, the leasing office staff is helpful, and the landscaping is beautiful, but there are rats and raccoons outdoors near the trash, some even in apartments. Some rodent chewed through our engine wiring - $10k in damage, car in the shop for two weeks. The apartments are old and there are constant maintenance issues. There’s a lack of parking and constant contention of people parking in reserved spots that are not theirs. Their billing system is horrible, and we received an eviction notice over a $70 extra bill that we were not even informed of. We will not be continuing to stay here. The negatives outweigh the positives.

I have mixed feelings about living here. On the positive side, the landscaping is beautiful, the pools are heated, sylvan park is just 10 min away. The maintenance team is super responsive, most requests are closed on the same day or within 24 hours. The leasing team has also been friendly. However, there are quite a few downsides. The apartments are spread on a narrow line across two streets. The leasing office, Gym, and hot spa are all on the one side. So if you live towards the end, especially on the Acalanes Dr street, all these are 10+ minutes round trip. Even Amazon packages get delivered to the hub (not to the door), so you would have to walk 10 min for each package delivery. Important Note: During my apartment viewing I was not informed that the property would be undergoing major construction for an extended period (converting parking spots into ADUs). If I would have signed my lease I would be stuck for a year while the place would be a giant loud construction site. I strongly recommend that anyone interested in leasing here ask detailed questions about upcoming construction, potential noise, parking changes, and how long the work is expected to continue. The location has potential, but future residents should have all the information they need to make an informed decision.
