Selah Vista Homes

Masterful craftsmanship and science displayed in the Selah Vista Homes. I have worked with a lot of Zero Energy Ready Homes and homes that are to built to last, but these are very special. Novel building science techniques expertly applied, such as conditioned attics, thermally sound walls, triple pane windows, the list goes on. Steve himself is also a very special person, whose qualities of thoughtfulness and care and his outlook to build homes with the user in mind really show in his work. Recently, he gave me and a couple of other interns his time for a tour of these homes. He was incredibly gracious and willing to share his work and his stories and I felt very grateful to have had the experience.

Extremely Economical and Secure! When people ask me about the houses in the new neighborhood where I live, I go immediately to the low cost of utilities. Selah Vista is all-electric and all-solar. I have lived here for two and a half years, and my Pacific Power bill runs from $7 - 9.00 total! It's easy to understand why: My walls are thick and insulated well, and my windows are triple-glazed.   In fact, I hear very little noise from outside. Even construction sounds are minimal. (And I have very good hearing.) The air filtration system is so good that in the smoke events we have had, surprisingly, my garage has no smoke smell. (Important for my tender lungs.) The exterior of the house is of stucco and metal. It's attractive, contemporary, and it's not likely to catch fire from any stray

I as well as my mentor and co-intern from PNNL got a chance to be given a tour of Selah Vista homes by Steve Weise himself. It was by far the most quiet/sound proof house I have been to. I was very fascinated by all the various building technology that are unique to Selah Vista Homes. Overall, I had a great time and Mr. Weise was a fundamental man to be around.
