Original post: I recently concluded renting with Seaport Properties after 5 years. Cheryl, Lindsay, and the team are fair and patient, and though we may not have always seen eye to eye on matters, it is very clear that Seaport Properties errs on the side of their tenants. When my old home came up for rent again, Cheryl helped me with the landlord of where I was living in Del Ray to end my lease there and transition smoothly to my home in Belle View. Seaport Properties took over the property after Kay Watkins Realty dissolved, and they did an incredible job at making that transition seamless and convenient. I am only sorry that I will not be working with them in the future, but I continue to highly recommend working with Cheryl and Seaport Properties for anyone in need of a good rental prop
As a first-time business owner securing my own space, I was truly excited to take on this location in Alexandria. Unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing. After signing the lease, I quickly realized the surrounding tenants were not welcoming. Several spoke to me in rude and disrespectful ways, which made the environment uncomfortable. Today, I finally met Cheryll — the property manager I had been communicating with — for the first time. Sadly, the interaction was extremely unprofessional. She was dismissive, condescending, and showed no genuine regard for me or my business. I left the conversation feeling belittled and disrespected. I can’t help but question whether I was treated this way because I’m a young Black business owner. Regardless of the reason, this experience h
I have been meaning to review Seaport and Cheryl for a long time and after my dealings with them I have to say that they have mostly been professional and fair. I have been a commercial tenant of Seaport for about 8 years and I have mostly dealt with Cheryl. I usually email her for any queries or concerns. My business like everybody else’s was affected during Covid where Cheryl lent a patient ear and helped me make payment plans to keep the business afloat. The business recovered and later I went through a knee injury and she was willing to talk to the landlord to help me make rental payments through an arrangement during this rough patch. She has always been a fair go between me and the landlord. Also, with maintainenence issues, Seaport comes to rescue promptly. I can definitely say this
We have rented the property on Edison street, Alexandria from this seaport property last year. Our whole experience is nightmare. The property was rented to us as “ AS IS” because all appliances are very old and wore out, the yard also wasn’t being taking care of and there is no dishwasher. We accept it because of location. First two months of Utilities bills are crazy high especially water bill and water waste bill for some reason. On third month My husband accepted a new job offer in different state so we had to break the lease move out. They told us that we are paying rent and utilities bill until someone rent it. We moved out the property, did super clean out and had it vacant for them show it to people. It took more than two months for us lease it to someone else. In this two months
We have used Seaport Properties management for the past two years and have been pleased with all aspects of our relationship. Seaport has promptly addressed all items associated with the property including all preventative maintenance, and any acute issues brought up by the tenants. Cheryl and her team have been terrific, and we look forward to extending our relationship.
