Sapd Property Room

Zero stars. They are extremely unprofessional and rude. They dont acknowledge if you have a power of attorney documentation even though it is illegal to do so. Do better SAPD!

They are so slow on answering. And they are never picking up any phone calls.

I HAD AN ACCIDENT ON 05052025 AND IT WASNT MY FAULT I LOST MY DADS VEHICLE THAT DAY THEN I TOLD THEM IF THEY COULD HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MY HOME THEY SAID NO. THEN THE CITY INPOUND AUCTIONED OFF THE VEHICLE JUNE 2 2025 THEY TOOK MY IPAD AIR AND MY PERSONAL PROPERTY TO THE PROPERTY ROOM AND TOLD ME I COULD PICK IT UP MONDAY THRU FRIDAY 9AM TO 3PM THEY NEVER TOLD ME AFTER 90DAYS THE PROPERTY WOULD BE DESTROYED I HAD MY DADS PICTURES ON THAT IPAD AND HE PASSED IN JANUARY AND I TOLD THE THE LADY OFFICER TO LEAVE MY PROPERTY IN THE VEHICLE SO I CAN PICK UP MY THINGS AT THE INPOUND I WENT 2 WEEKS LATER TO PICK UP THE OTHER ITEMS AND SHE TOLD ME TO PROVIDE DEATH CERTIFICATE AND I DID SO ABLE TO GET MY OTHER THINGS IF THE IPAD WAS LEFT I WOULD OF HAD MY DADS PICTURES THERE HAS TO BE SOME LAW

Not sure if it's due to the Microsoft issue but I have tried several day to get a hold of a person to answer some basic questions. Not sure if property is there , there is no alternate number, called at different times and waited a couple of hours no answer, called Sapd non emergency transfered to same number, called 311 no alternate number and back at where I was trying to figure out who has the property. How long they keep the property. I don't get off in time before it closes to drive down there and haven't been there, not sure if available parking or area and not sure of protocol of getting items and if forms need to be printed prior, appointment is needed... So best bet is to go down there.

I guess I am a lucky one after reading these other reviews. Someone always answered when I called, they answered all my questions and even gave me updates on my property release. I had zero issues what so ever. I appreciate these officers and the job they did for me.
