Sabet Management

Made the mistake of renting from Sabet. Rates were pretty on par for Boston but accommodations felt nearly unlivable. Apartment was not cleaned before move-in and truly a “landlord special” - thick layers of paint covered areas in need of repair on walls and plastered dust and grime to baseboards and window seals. Apartment was not able to handle the amount of electricity needed for the number of tenants on the lease - breaker would have to be reset every time someone turned on a hair dryer, used the microwave, or brewed a pot of coffee — huge risk of sparking an electrical fire. In the summer I lived there, Boston temps were regularly in the 90’s and the apartment did not have the electrical capacity to support more than one window AC unit - common areas of the unit did not receive good a

The somewhat reasonable rent (even that is a stretch) is nowhere near worth it for the living conditions. They were always turning the heat off in the winter, the 4 laundry machines were always broken and would eat the quarters, elevator never worked, packages stolen, people shooting up in the stairwell, endless noise complaints about neighbors playing their instruments were never addressed. Not to mention an ongoing bed bug problem! The cherry on top was having nearly 1k deducted from our security deposit for “wall painting” despite my paint matching, patching (past tenants’ damage that they were charged for and the management never fixed), and painting the walls on my own dime. Truly such scammers. Do not give them your money!

Elevator was routinely out of service (and old… basically unusable). Packages were regularly stolen. People slept on the complex lobby floor. They will steal your security deposit. Apartments are never clean when you move-in. If you get locked out, they’ll make you pay an expensive fee. They prey on vulnerable students so they’ll never change or listen to requests. Do better.

Do not rent from Sabet! They held our security deposit until the very last day and took out $1100 for painting after we had been living there for 2 years. They quoted us on things we agreed were already damaged upon us moving in. When we attempted to argue this, they completely GHOSTED. Do yourself a favor and do not rent from them.

They kept over $2k of our security deposit for hanging pictures on the walls. There was no damage to the apartment at all. It was very overpriced and cramped. We had many issues that were never addressed during our year of living there. I would recommend avoiding them at all costs.
