Richard Henry Construction

I had Richard Henry build a new deck about 5 years ago, as I had known him since he was very young. I realized a few years ago that the spacing between the boards was not proper, and residue from the trees was sticking in between the boards causing them to rot prematurely. When I mentioned this to Richard, he blew me off saying the boards should have shrunk with age, This is redwood, and it is not shrinking since installation, and it is quite a chore every time I have to restain to clean out the residue between boards. I also had him redo my kitchen. At first I thought he had done a good job, however, the first winter, the kitchen was very cold, especially the outside wall.
