PTLA Property Management

PTLA is an ethical, professional company that treats their tenants humanely. When my son had to leave his apartment abruptly, PTLA worked to re-rent the place quickly so that he didn't have to pay through the whole lease. They didn't have to act so decently, but they did. The apartment was beautiful, and it was heartbreaking to leave, but PTLA's kindness and diligence made a bad situation so much better and less stressful. I highly recommend this management company.

Just don't even bother cleaning when you're moving out. I used to professionally clean so naturally I did all the deep cleaning when we were leaving our unit. PTLA took our WHOLE deposit. And claimed the unit wasn't clean. I had pictures of the unit clean, and they would only accept a receipt from a cleaning company. Why even give your residents move out sheets with what needs to be cleaned before move out, if you'll charge them anyways. They will take all your money. If you can go with another property management, definitely do it. Of all the places I've rented from, PTLA has screwed me the hardest. EDIT: because I can't reply to their reply below. Take the reviews into serious consideration before renting from PTLA. I can honestly say, only rent from them if you have absolutely have no other choice. I knew going in it wouldn't be a great experience...but didn't expect it to be as bad as my experience was. Now of course, they manage many different properties all over the county so they differ from location to location... but the blatant neglect of the new building I lived in, not giving me any other option to relocate when they were dealing with drugs/homeless living in and intruding the building, theft/vandalism... I actually questioned the humanity of the employees they had working for them, I truly don't understand how they treat tenants the way they do and go home to their kids and sleep at night. Avoid at all costs. One star doesn't justify how terrible my experience was with PTLA. One of the worst slumlord companies in all of Bellingham which is a difficult feat to accomplish. Towed my car while I was getting a medical procedure done that was properly parked with a parking pass correctly displayed because "the person that reported it read my license plate number wrong over the phone". It cost $800. They refused to pay and basically told me to sue. Took my whole deposit and charged me for a ton of stuff that was broken when I moved in. I could go on and on. Employees are as soulless and despicable as the company itself. Students, parents, friends, and enemies. Stay away from PTLA.

5-star. It’s all relative. I expect to lose my deposit, charged a cleaning fee, all that fun PERFECTLY NORMAL AND TYPICAL behavior from a management company. I think what you have, really, is a bunch of 1st time renters who are young and don’t know what to expect. Most of these 1-stars and the issues they seem to have; valid issues! No doubt, but see I expect all that to happen. Par for the course this is my 3rd time renting. Believe me, these issues pail in comparison to what you’ll find in downtown Seattle…
