Princeton Gardens

I'm writing this review much later than I intended but overall my family and I enjoyed the year we spent at this apartment complex. Our neighbors were friendly for the most part (there's always 1 or 2 obnoxious people but that's life), the rent is affordable, there is a laundry room on site ($1.50 per load), heat and water is included in the rent, and it's pet friendly (cats preferred but dogs are ok). In Philly, it can be extremely difficult to find 1 of those features let alone all of them in one place. During our time there, maintenance came in to fix a few issues - some due to us contacting the landlord but there were other times that management was proactive to email us ahead of time about preventive maintenance or to fix a problem that popped up while we were at work. I had a wonderful time living in this apartment. It was spacious with necessary amenities making our stay comfortable. The neighbors were very friendly and welcoming! The office and maintenance staff were very supportive and got any issues addressed. I would highly recommend living here to anyone who is looking for a quiet and good neighborhood with close proximity to train stations (Chestnut hill east or west lines).

My first year living here was great. After that, it progressively got worse and the price kept going up with no improvements to the unit or living situation. Yes the location is convenient and that is probably its best perk. It is a great area. Seriously. However, as others mentioned, noise is a huge issue here and bugs frequently find their way into the apartment- from outside. I know this stuff “happens” but I never had that issue at any previous property or my current one. I would also be foolish not to share that I was basically pressured to leave after making noise complaints about my upstairs neighbor - who was hammering objects in their unit at midnight. I have had the opportunity to live at Princeton Gardens for close to 1.5 years and I loved my stay during that time. The neighborhood is in a prime location, it is extremely safe for the most part, there is a lot of beautiful nature and trees in Mt. Airy, the people are nice, I have felt comfortable coming back to my apartment past Midnight, and everyone is amicable. On top of this being in a great neighborhood, there are a lot of amazing restaurants, supermarkets, dry cleaners, and places to do errands, it is also very near to other neighborhoods such as Chestnut Hill, Maynayunk, and Bala Cynwyd. Simon and Caesar (Super and Handyman) are both responsive and have attended to all my needs.

A little confused by some of the reviews. While this location is great, the apartment I lived in was not in the best condition. The landlord and maintenance were responsive sometimes, and completely unresponsive other times. The maintenance requests that are submitted to the online portal or the phone number attached never get acknowledged. Noise also carries in these apartments. Sometimes it sounds like your neighbor is in the next room it gets that loud. The dryers and washers don’t always work either. Overall you get what you pay for and while there’s some great neighbors and convenience , you might not get a unit that’s as quality as the others. Parking is very convenient here.
