Old Pueblo Home Inspection

Missed several major defects while inspecting my first-ever home, most notably stated that the HVAC system was in working order . . . Nearly $20,000 in repairs to it later, it was discovered that the original HVAC unit was improperly sealed, leading to most of the air leaking, and more concerningly - the unit was attached to thin, faulty, DIY'd wiring that was already starting to burn away at the connector points. Technicians said I'm lucky that my house didn't catch on fire . . . Edit to add: Yes, we were present during the home's inspection and final walkthrough. However: so were the previous homeowners, on both occasions.
