I have rented three apartments through Mike and Newton Centre Associates. Each experience has been outstanding. Over the years, Mike has treated me with a high degree of care and candor, taking the time to specifically show me apartments that fit my changing needs. While maintaining a hectic schedule of his own, Mike always went out of his way to accommodate my own busy schedule. What stands out most about Mike, and by extension, his company however is that he genuinely takes the time to get to know his clients, not as a means of securing business, but, out of his own interest in getting to know people. My girlfriend and I had a fantastic experience working with Michael Spurr of Newton Centre Associates. While showing us one apartment, Mike mentioned that he had another apartment in mind for us -- one in the same price range, but - he promised - much better. This was on a Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend! He could have easily rushed us in and out, but instead he took the time to ask us thoughtful questions about our lifestyle and what we were looking for in an apartment. Mike and Carla are just the best property managers! When my sister and I inherited our family home over ten years ago, both of us were living out of state and needed someone to rent and manage our multifamily property.  Carla is all about details as she handles the rents, invoices, and the bookkeeping for our taxes. She has everything to the penny. She carefully catalogues all expenses and everything is tabulated in a year-end spreadsheet that we just give directly to our tax preparer. So easy! Mike handles the renting of the property, emergencies, and reviewing bids for work to be done on the property. He always finds us great tenants and knows all the contractors/repair folks for when things come up. Mike S is an outstanding realtor, the best in Newton Ma. I rented an apartment from him 5 years ago. The process was painless. He did all the work for me to take the stress away. From the showing to the signing of the paperwork to getting the keys. Everything could not have gone smoother. 5 years later I took a job out of state and had to move. Mike is an excellent realtor - very generous with his time, knowledgeable about the rental process, and practical about the owner/renter relationship. With less than a days notice, Mike agreed to meet with us on a Sunday evening to finalize an application, and dispensed valuable advise on topics including rental insurance and credit scores. He was the best realtor of several we have worked with in the Boston area over the past couple of months, and we cannot recommend him highly enough.​
