Unfortunately, my experience with this company has been extremely disappointing, particularly in their handling of my mortgage and escrow account. After numerous phone calls and written requests, I was eventually able to have my escrow account removed. However, this process exposed significant issues in how my account was managed. From the beginning, I have personally managed my homeowner’s insurance—this has been the case since 2023. Despite this, the company unexpectedly contacted my insurance agent to request verification. They received a statement that clearly indicated **“THIS IS NOT A BILL”** and confirmed that the *homeowner manages the account*. Apparently, this documentation was not sufficient. My mortgage was originally through caliber and then purchased by newrez, I have a strange situation because my property is split in several tax parcels. Apparently newrez didn’t realize that and only paid property taxes through my escrow account on some of my parcels and not all of them. I discovered this and notified newrez. This has resulted in a huge negative balance in my escrow account over several years. Now newrez expects me to pay the full negative balance over the course of 1 year effectively doubling my mortgage. It’s really great to have my mortgage doubled by no fault of my own and work with a company that took years to create this mess and expects me to be able to afford double my mortgage for the next year.

Be very careful with them as they accidentally took an extra $5,600 out of our bank account and now they will be refunding it in 12 TO 15 BUSINESS days. so with weekends and holidays it might be over 3 weeks before they refund it. They apologized and told me the lady that did this will be spoken to by her supervisor. That doesnt help pit bank account. Im pretty shocked with how unprofessional this situation was.

I had an unbelievably poor experience with Newrez. In order to pay my insurance through their escrow they require a request that takes over a week to process, along with an entirely extra written request. They forced me to spend hours on the phone, talk to over 5 representatives who gave me conflicting, incorrect guidance. All of this and they were still unable (or unwilling) to set up the escrow properly so I had to pay myself, why does it take 5 business days to *request* an insurance change and why don't they tell you if they need something additional from you? Bizarre and totally ineffective
