Honored to share here our experience with the professionals at Muse Realty. My wife and I were looking for a specific type of home to rent when we came across their website. After locating what appeared to be a very close fit, we took a short drive to their office to learn more about their service and the listing of interest. We were promptly greeted by Ke ’Arah Tate, the front office administrator. And I must say what a pleasure it was meeting her. So kind, personable, professional, and knowledgeable. I rented with this company for almost 2 years. I had a lease for the first year and was month to month after that, per the lease agreement. The rent amount increased twice after my initial lease ended. I ended up paying $100 more than what I originally signed for, which I did not complain about. I was a couple days late on two payments throughout my tenancy and I communicated this to the office well in advance. I was initially thanked for communicating and thought everything would be okay. Later, I was given a 30 day notice from the owner, not Muse Realty. I was upset by this, but accepted the fact and moved quietly. My real issues with the owner, and subsequently Muse Realty, began after my lease ended. I do not believe that I should have gotten my entire security deposit back. I did ha
I estimate I lost about $25,000 by deciding to have Muse manage my rental property. Over the six years I was with them, all three of the tenants they had supposedly vetted, simply stopped paying and/or trashed my house. After realizing in year three how much money I'd lost up until that point (only $11,000 then), I tried to fire them, only to learn that, due to shady contract language, I had to boot out the current tenant in order to get rid of Muse also. Knowing what I know now, I should have kicked them all to the curb then. Instead, my losses were as follows: 1) The first renter just quit paying. It took two months to get him out so, after the deposit, I lost a month's worth of rent that Muse said they sent to Collections but is now too old to get back (around $1,300). 2) My second te
I rented a condo from this place on June 1 2009, I moved out Dec 7 2024 over 15 years and they are trying to charge me for carpet replacement, painting and other normal wear after over 15 years of renting! Be careful if you rent from this company! I will be taking this to Cort! update! they did return paschal deposit, but they charged 150$ for cleaning a property that I spent 7 hours scrubbing after I moved out. I have plenty of photos showing the pristine condition I left the condo. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE! THEY ARE CONARTIST AND YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR DEPOSIT BACK NO MATTER HOW PERFECT YOU LEAVE THE PROPERTY!!! update! still being charged for water / sewer service even though it clearly states in the contract that all utilities be moved to owner name in 6 days of moving out.
Great place and town to live in. Be sure to read the fine print on the move out process and fees. Repainting, carpet cleaning, stove drip pans and window covering repairs/replacement costs will all come out of your security deposit. Basically you will never get your full deposit back and if you get 50% back consider yourself lucky. It's a policy they have in place and that's fine. But it's not really disclosed very well when you move in. Just something folks should be prepared for.
