I was looking at old photos from 10 years ago for Instagram today and I came across photos from my experience breaking a lease with this company. Stay away. Stay as far away as you can. They're a typical scumlord enabler. If you have a complaint to them, they "ask the homeowner" who inevitably says no. After MULTIPLE limb-falls in the backyard (photos attached) where I asked for the tree to be removed (told no) and asked for help removing them (told to buy a chainsaw - which I still own) we broke the lease and bought a home. When trying to fill the home after we vacated, they found cosplay photos I had framed and sent the attached complaint to the city. I'm a tenant. I'm allowed to be petty. You're a "professional" rental agency. You should be better. I hired a professional moveout c
I just wanted to make others aware of the bad experience I had at Mountains n Plains so they can be prepared if they choose to go this route. I rented a property through them for two years and the place was a total nightmare (lots of broken things that they wouldn't fix, yard a mess when we moved in, mice problem that they barely addressed, etc.) While we thought we made a concerted effort to make them aware of the issues in the home while we lived there, they were sure to keep more than half of our security deposit over things that were already wrong with the place prior to our move in. If you go with mountains n Plains, just be sure you're taking extensive photos on your move in day so they don't rip you off like they did to me!
This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with a rental company. From the beginning, the house was already damaged when we moved in, and maintenance requests were either ignored or took an unreasonable amount of time to be addressed. The property was put up for sale during our lease, and people repeatedly showed up for showings without any notice. When we brought this up, the company constantly blamed others instead of taking responsibility. They clearly prioritized the homeowners’ interests over the tenants’ well-being. To make matters worse, we were given a lease termination notice in February — but then were told we were still responsible for following the lease and paying rent. The lack of clarity, accountability, and professionalism has been beyond frustrating. Staff were of
Yeah, I’d be happy to expand upon it. It really comes down to the fact that once I signed my lease, y’all turned into a money-hungry organization that lacked communication and fabricated charges upon move-out. It’s what all the reviews are also mentioning. There was a lack of communication with everything from maintenance to deposit disputes. The few responses I did receive felt like they were generated by ChatGPT. Overall, I’m just very disappointed in how things turned out. I was able to recover more of my deposit after proving some of the charges were false. That said, I didn’t have the energy to fight every single charge. I’m sure you’re happy to nickel and dime people, but in doing so, you’ve completely ruined your reputation.
Communication sucks. Notices from our HOA are always delivered late. We get messages from maintenance requesting permission to enter but then can’t tell me what they need to enter for. There was an open work order on our portal, but no information- it was blank. The maintenance tech Nickolas told me to just call the office if I have questions and to let him know when he can come by. Communication between owners and MNP apparently is not clear. A bathroom fan motor caught fire in our apartment last October, it wasn’t until Feb/March 2025 that owners came by to replace our dishwasher, I asked them about it and they had no clue it ever happened. They took the fan cover that was burned/melted and removed the bad motor. I got a call from a contractor MNP had hired to do a repair just a week ag
