Monroeville Apartments at Birnam Wood

BE WARNED: This apartment complex will not disclose any history of crimes that take place on the property and will lie to you if you ask. I had my car broken into and the airbag was stolen after only 3 WEEKS of living there. I had asked a month before moving in if they had any history of crime in their parking lot and was told no. Come to find out this exact crime happened 2 separate times before I moved in and they lied to me. I had to find out from another tenant who told me it had happened to him TWICE already at that location and nothing was done. There is also a package theft issue and they will do nothing to address it, even though we knew it was someone living in the building. I lost at least a month's worth of rent on packages being stolen and they could not care less. To top it

I had a positive experience with this place until they went up to a cumulative $300.00 on my rent. I advised one of the property managers at the time that I would be moving. I spoke with Matt who sounded very empathetic and said that he understood. Shortly afterwards, I found a place. I moved, spent two days thoroughly cleaning the place, leaving it in extremely good order with minimal if any damages. Matt imposed a $ 1600.00 bill i definitely didnt owe. I am now going to have to countersue to get this off of my credit report. Do not trust Matt he is a habitual liar and please TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR PLACE WHEN YOU MOVE!! I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else. Avoid this place!!!!!!

Sadly, the cigarette smoke in the buildings perpetuates throughout the hallways and indoor spaces. Very large , aggressive dogs are permitted (Great Dane / Mastiff ) and sadly their barking is heard throughout the buildings . It isn’t fair to the excessively large dogs to be subjected to small one bedroom / 2 bedroom apartments. You hear the large dogs running and jumping upstairs in the bottom units . Sadly , there needs to be restrictions on the weight and size of dogs ; one and two bedroom apartments are great for dogs under 60pounds but totally unfair to these super large dogs like Great Danes , Mastiff Mixes .

I am a first time renter. This 1 bed setup is great for a first time renter it has everything I had in my 3 bed 2 bath home i used to live in with 3 other people. I luv the quiet surroundings and wooded area and gym around the apartment. This is a great place for a single bachelor like me.

I have lived here for a year and a half. This is an amazing living community. The office staff are accommodating and professional. They have cute seasonal activities and a workout complex. They are thorough in updates with communication. The maintenance crew is efficient and responds fast. The neighborhood is quiet, clean, and peaceful. It is conveniently close to the library, stores and shops, and I-376. I’ve never had any issues go unresolved. This is by far my favorite apartment experience and I am from the Pittsburgh area so I’ve lived in the city for most of my life and I don’t miss it. I recommend this place to live, for sure and I’m quite hard to please and typically not easily impressed.
