I don’t even know where to begin, but my experience with David Minkin Management was an absolute nightmare. I had to break my lease, so I knew I’d lose my security deposit, but the level of incompetence, dishonesty, and negligence I encountered with this company is beyond anything I could’ve imagined. First off, when I moved out, I asked for a prorated refund for the 15 days I wasn’t in the apartment (since the new tenant was moving in on the 15th). I thought that was a reasonable request, but instead, Nancy—the worst customer service representative I've ever had the displeasure of speaking to—laughed at me and told me I wouldn’t get a penny back. Wish they would take accountability for their errors. On the day we were supposed to move in, we were still waiting for the keys. When I called they did not want to give a clear answer for when we would have keys or if we would be paid back for rent we've paid. They just told us condescendingly to "not worry about it" over and over. Gave up and spoke to the porters on the property directly and they just gave us the keys. At this property, our gas was shut off for 5 months because of lack of proper maintenance on the system. This meant no heat or stove/oven for about 20 different families during quarantine. I've been living in a David Minkin Management property for almost 4 years now and don't have a single complaint. Any issue I have, I call the office and the ladies are lovely and help as much as they can. Overall our building is kept in good condition and they distribute important information in a very thorough and timely manner. I do wish they would update their system to be able to pay rent electronically and that they'd make better decisions in regards to aesthetics (this year our hall was painted a weird tan with the doorways painted black?) but again, not much else to complain about. We also have an amazing super in our building, Humberto, which also helps field any everyday issues that arise.

We moved into an apartment without renovations and did renovations ourselves including painting the walls and patching holes in the front door. After the lease ended we moved out and they charged us 2000$ from the security deposit for renovations. This company is shameless.

I called about a misunderstanding regarding an extra payment I made by accident. Management had very poor customer service skills. She was abrupt and had poor etiquette with no attempt to be understanding even though she "couldn't do anything".
