Super cheap builds. Cheap paint and they cut a ton of corners. We find many trim and cabinet defects with this builder and their warranty service is terrible.

Bought a Meritage house in Melissa. Once moved in had nothing but issues in dealing with the local manager. He never finished completing the walk-thru. Had only 30 days to complete so he delayed or pushed the fix on me. Frustrating. Then when went to Meritage Warranty, they also tried to avoid responsibility pushing off to their subcontractors/vendors who went back and forth on who to blame. A few examples (of many): City of Melissa reported a leak in April. Over three months later, $300 plus of extra costs due to water leak off main line and finally fixed. Blame: Knight Irrigation hired by Meritage. Reimbursed for the costs? $88 by city and ZERO by Meritage, ZERO by Knight. Major water leak in irrigation line at tail end of leak at main line leak... Meritage Warranty response? Rejected

Don't bother with his company. Biggest bait and switch ever. They don't provide you any way to get the brochure price because they either only release lots with premiums attached or make you wait till the next release in the community which comes with a base price increase. Very disingenuous style of doing business. We were ready to sign tomorrow until we got told our only two options were to pay more to get the contract started before we even to talk about upgrades!

The house we looked at was beautiful and the person who helped us was patient with our questions and gave us all the information we asked for. We didn't choose them for our builder, but we had a positive customer experience.
