Meridian Title Company

They are the self proclaimed “doing good” title company and I’m here to vouch for their good deeds! My husband and I recently entered into escrow on a for sale by owner home in our neighborhood with no agents involved. I called Meridian to see if one of their escrow officers might be willing to sit down with me to walk me through the process of filling out the contract so I could be sure I was doing it right and that very day someone printed everything out and sat with me in their conference room going line by line until everything was done and I felt comfortable. That was an hour out of her day that she hadn’t planned on spending in that way and she could not have been nicer and more helpful! Everyone there is very professional and great with communication and I feel so well taken car

I went to buy title insurance under a business and was told that I needed to prove the business exists. I asked who in their right mind would buy a title insurance under a fictitious name? Because it would be impossible to sell that property because you can't prove you own it. Well, we need it anyway. Sure, you can contact the Utah department. Melanie said she doesn't want to do that, otherwise she'd charge me for the time. In other words, she wants to double dip, charge me for the title and for the time to work on the title. That's like a taxi driver charging me for the cost of driving on top of the taxi rate. So, I decided to use a different company instead.
