My experience with Mercantile has been marked by persistent communication failures, unprofessional behavior, and an ongoing lack of accountability. 1. Rude Employees: The staff's attitude towards us has been unprofessional and unwelcoming. Their responses to inquiries are curt and dismissive, leaving owners feeling unheard and disrespected. 2. Ineffective Communication: Emails from the company are often vague and fail to address specific concerns. It's as if they copy-paste generic responses without actually understanding the issue at hand. Then double down in frustration when you ask for clarification. Nearly three years ago, our community formed an association and separated from the builder. The first management company was a huge mistake and terminated within a few months, then Mercantile Property Management was hired. The president, Ryan McGowan, is knowledgeable, trustworthy with integrity. Ryan was instrumental in guiding the trustees through unknown territory setting up and handling the Homeowners Association. His knowledge of the laws and regulations governing associations coupled with easy communication made the Board of Trustees immediately comfortable. Our condominium has been managed by Mercantile for several years. Most recently we have had the pleasure of having Rebecca as the portfolio manager for our association. As a board member and an owner, I’ve had perspective from both sides and have found that Rebecca consistently goes above and beyond to help both in the administration of association business as well as interactions with individual owners. She is always kind, knowledgeable, articulate, professional, respectful and considerate in her interactions. She always follows through on issues and works hard to ensure resolution. I can’t limit my kudos to just Rebecca though, the entire team at Mercantile has been kind and helpful. Awful management overall. Paying for maintenance fee every month and have yearly increase but no help from maintenance at all. They tell you that you need to find your own plumber, etc and fix everything yourself. There’s mold polluted in the apartment when it’s very moist in the summer, flood leaks into the balcony when it rains, no securities in the door and windows. Bugs crawling in the house and walls were not properly patched before selling the property. Bathroom sink was not placed correctly when install, water leaks onto the ground when overflow. Rules are apparently more important than assisting with residential needs.

Mercantile Property Management brings dozens of years of property management experience to the table, and it shows. MPM has been handling things at our condominium association for over twenty years, starting at a time period presenting severe financial problems and many years of physical neglect and poor management. MPM got our property back on its feet and has kept us there with their expertise and responsive and skilled staff. Any issue that we have as a unit owner is handled efficiently and in a timely manner. Their handling of a major capital improvement project over these past couple of years was superb. Our community is updated and beautiful, with Craig, Ryan and their entire staff at Mercantile having a major hand in this. An excellent company.
