Mason Hall Apartments

My fiance and I have lived at mason hall for a little over 5 years. The building is a bit older but I would not live anywhere else. It has a beautiful view in the back of a very cute little town, and the living space inside is decently sized. The building management team is what makes this place worth it though, you will not find people like this anywhere else. Donna is so caring, and has always put the tenants, their safety, and comfort-ability first. She has always done everything she could to make sure that we are being taken care of. No matter what the issue is we know when we talk to her it will be fixed as fast as it can be. She has a great team in the office as well. Pros: The Facility Managers here are awesome. From Donna to the maintenance team, Robyn, José, and the cleaning lady, this team is very respectful and super helpful to the best of their ability. The maintenance guys will literally go out of their way to help you. The location is another plus. You can’t fault it if you work in DC, it’s walkable and decently safe as well with lots of places for groceries nearby. They keep the building really clean and secure, and my favorite part is the orderly and safe mail deliveries. The Cons: First, I think the Bernstein top management somehow believes this building is on the same level as their newer properties in the DMV area, and the rent has skyrocketed in the past few years without considering what tenants actually endure here. I'm not saying anything about who works there, but 70 years old, and a moldy building renting like a brand new apartment? 🤣 Cat/dog fee every month: $50, meaning $600 a year! 1br $1850 c'mon this is very old and moldy apartments I just rented an apartment at Potomac Yard, a brand new 1-bedroom apartment for $1900.

Mason Hall has been my home since moving to the US, and I’ve spent three wonderful years here till now. While it’s an older apartment complex, the management keeps it in excellent condition. Donna and Robin are two of the most wonderful people you’ll ever meet – they go above and beyond to help with anything you need. Maintenance issues are always addressed promptly and efficiently. The location is fantastic, with Old Town, the Mt. Vernon Trail, and several grocery stores just a short distance away. I highly recommend Mason Hall for anyone looking for a well-maintained, welcoming place to call home.

The communication between management and me has been excellent. They are genuinely willing to make accommodations. The apartments are quite modern for historic buildings, and the sizing options are decent for the price. If you feel anxious about moving, I highly recommend speaking with Shaya; she is sincere and understanding.
