Maplewood Garden Apartments

I’ve been a resident here for 3 years now, originally lived 1 bedroom and decided I wanted to upgrade and move into a 2 bedroom this year. I’ve never had an issue with Maplewood my whole time living here until I wanted to upgrade. After the upgrade was all said and done, I was moved in. Paid a transfer fee. And boom, at the end of October they are trying to hit me with a $900 charge for repairs needed in my apartment. Which makes absolutely no sense considering they checked my apartment before move out and said all good and looks good! $499 to replace the carpet? When the carpet was fine. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend Maplewood apartments due to their blindside move. If I knew this fee was gonna be $900 I would have not moved into another Apartment of theirs.

I have lived in apartments from coast to coast and this one really takes the cake. My neighbor's bathroom fan was so loud, it shook my entire apartment. I begged for months for them to come fix it. They told me they fixed it, and I invited the maintenance technician to come and listen. He refused, and the noise continued for months. It sounded like a clothes dryer was running in my bedroom at 5:00am. Out of curiosity, I opened my bathroom fan, and it was held on by zip ties. Finally, after 10 months of back and forth with absolutely no progress made, I broke my lease because I work until 12am, and waking up everyday at 5am was ruining my life. I had to pay fees and an extra months rent, even though I have dozens of emails detailing our correspondence. During the move out inspection, the

JAMIE IS THE WORST RECEPTIONIST I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND HAS ZERO BASIC PHONE ETIQUETTE. HER ATTITUDE IS DISGUSTING AND RUDE FROM THE SECOND SHE PICKS UP THE PHONE. IF THIS IS HOW YOU ALLOW YOUR FRONT DESK TO TREAT PEOPLE, IT SAYS A LOT ABOUT HOW THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS RUN. NO WONDER YOUR GOOGLE REVIEWS ARE SO LOW. DO BETTER. TRAIN YOUR STAFF OR REPLACE THEM. THIS WAS BEYOND UNACCEPTABLE.

This is my second experience living at Maplewood Apartments in almost 20 years. The friendliness, renovations, location and previous positive experience brought me back. The custodian, still here after 20 years, is great, responding quickly and does quality work. The project manager(s) are warm, engaging and considerate. My apartment has updated appliances, beautiful flooring, balcony An ideal location, the best of 2 worlds, peaceful with trees, birds chirping, deer sightings, so much greenery, close to stores, schools, the university, a diverse community, and ability to access major highways, 690, 81, the Thruway. Remember this is eclectic living, open to singles, families and pets; life's normal sights and sounds. It's "home."

Maplewood has the best Facilities Mgr. of any apartment complex I have ever lived in. He fixes things right away and knows every feature and detail of the property. He is the most responsive, hardworking, experienced guy and bends over backwards to resolve tenants needs. Also the Property Mgr is very experienced, competent and fair, which is all you could ask. And I agree and am so grateful that the Property Mgr, she enforces and keeps the complex quiet. No late night loud music or nonsense in the parking lot is allowed. I put a huge premium on enforcing quiet and strong facilities and property management, and Maplewood does all 3. I’m very satisfied. They have been very fair to me and they do a good job.
