These aren’t brand-new units with high-end finishes or trendy kitchens. But they’re solid and pleasant — and for the price, you get good value. Many of the buildings were constructed by Midland Builders, known for practical, durable construction. You’ll find private garages and basements in some of the townhome layouts. The varied Google reviews reflect a turbulent few years. Midland, the original builder-owner, was attentive to tenants' requests, but let long-term maintenance slip. Then Spaulding bought the property and things deteriorated badly — next to no response for tenants' requests for maintenance, communication was poor, and rent hikes forced many residents out. Midland Rental was my first choice when I moved to Madison 14 years ago. I have lived in their Scenic View Townhomes ever since. The General Manager is amazing. The Maintenance staff is responsive, friendly, and very knowledgeable. I recommend Midland Rental to everyone!

The management company is SO easy to work with. The quality is fantastic for the price! They really seem to understand what it is like to be a renter in this area, and take the extra steps to make the experience that much better. Our furnace went out in the middle of the polar vortex and they went above and beyond to make sure our family (including our pets) was safe and taken care of until our furnace could be replaced.

I have been renting from Midland Rental for a number of years now. It’s great that I can pay my rent online and submit a maintenance request online (or via phone call). Maintenance requests are resolved within a timely manner and if any follow up is needed, I get a phone call with an update so I’m not wondering why something wasn’t done. The maintenance staff and the office staff are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend Midland Rental to anyone.

Do not rent here. Since the new owners, Spaulding group took over, everything has gone downhill. Maitnence requests taking over 3 months, even with hazards such as mold. No amenities, but rent continues to raise by 100-200 dollars every year “to meet market value”. The grounds have no upkeep except mowing every once in a while. Buildings and entryways are falling apart on the outside, interiors are very outdated with no plans to update, and so so much more. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE and find somewhere else!!
