Lodge at Cypresswood Apartments

I lived at Lodge Way Cypresswood Apartments for 13 months, and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The issues started early on with a severe roach and bug infestation. It was so bad that I couldn’t sleep in my own apartment for the majority of my lease. I had to rely on a friend’s home because I couldn’t deal with the roaches being in my bed, my food, and literally every corner of the apartment. Despite my repeated complaints, the management did very little to resolve the issue. They scheduled pest control, but it was completely ineffective. Even after explaining the severity of the situation multiple times, nothing improved. To make matters worse, my neighbor was a heavy smoker, and the smell of weed constantly seeped into my apartment. It could be a nice place but the pool is always closed for weeks at a time. When the gate breaks it takes weeks until it’s fixed. The garbage area is always over flowing with garbage. The maintenance men are very good and trustworthy, that’s a nice plus but I can’t believe how run down this nice complex has become🙁

Mold growing all over inside apartment, maintenance will not come out and fix even though multiple requests have been sent in. Our lease is up at end of July but they want us to pay for August rent on a month to month basis since they want a 60 day vacate notice. Apparently telling g them we are moving when our lease is up wasn't good enough for them. This place was amazing when we moved in years ago, but management has changed and the office staff are rude and u helpful with issues pertaining to the apartments

First: please note that several of the 5 star reviews for this property are from people who toured but did NOT live here. Also, I learned from Apartments.com staff that property ratings are controlled by the properties, not tenants...so The Lodge has a 4.7 star rating but it's not really true. The ratings here on Google and Apartments.com are inflated. Second: your deposit will NOT be returned to you and they will bill you for more. They will not email or call you about it - they will send snail mail to the address you provide and then set creditors on you hurting your credit score. Third: I spent 8 years here and watched as new ownership from California ran this to the ground. It is a beautiful property, but I wouldn't move there now. This property might not be perfect for others but I personally lived here over 10 years and realized the entire staff and owner does their best to accommodate everyone's issues and certainly does not ignore them. Apartment life in Houston, Texas can only be the best can possibly be if we all Enjoy and appreciate what is good.
