Liberty Military Housing - Willoughby Bay

If I could do 0 stars I would. This has been the worst place I have ever lived and I was on an aircraft carrier. Do not live here unless you want to lose power every other week through the summer. Do not live here unless you want black mold. Do not live here unless you want to be harassed with notifications about mowing your lawn (even in the middle of a heatwave where they send out emails telling you to stay inside). Do not live here unless you like your house at a constant balmy 74 degrees through the summer. Do not live here unless you want your toilet to flood through your ceiling into your kitchen (yes this actually happened) and have to have housing cut a hole in your ceiling through which mice enter your home. The blinds fall down if you do much as look at them. This place is a scam

I’ve been living at Willoughby Liberty Housing for some time now, and while the location is convenient and maintenance staff are generally responsive, I’ve been very dissatisfied with the frequent power outages. It’s disruptive to daily life and makes the high cost of rent feel even less justified. For what we pay each month, more reliability and stability should be expected.

This has been one of the worst places I’ve ever lived—unfortunately, it lives up to the reputation that "base housing" often gets. Power outages are frequent, and the AC system is either locked or not working half the time, making the living conditions uncomfortable. I’ve just hit my six-month mark and can’t wait to move out. The maintenance team is unreliable and unresponsive, which only adds to the frustration. The only bright spot is the office staff—the ladies working there are genuinely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, that’s not enough to make up for the overall poor experience

We have lived here for a week and the neighborhood is really quiet! My two kids love it here and I appreciate how friendly people are. Management is responsive and maintenance requests are handled within the first 24 hours.

Love it here! First time being in Virginia and I feel so at home and safe here! Love the community here! Everyone is super friendly! And helpful!!!
