Legacy at Imperial Village Apartments

RUN — don’t walk. Whatever you do, do NOT move into this property. I moved in out of desperation, and I’ve regretted it every single day. This place is unsafe, unsanitary, and completely mismanaged. •   Exterior doors are left unlocked all night. I live next to one with constant in-and-out traffic from strangers. My kids, who are old enough to stay home alone, don’t feel safe here — and neither do I. •   The hallways and stairwells reek of urine and animal smells. The building is filthy. Only one elevator works. The AC barely runs, the air quality feels questionable, and I’ve had unexplained skin issues since moving in. •   Bugs are a real issue. I had a very good experience with Legacy at Imperial Village getting a studio apartment. I spoke to Everlyn McKay. I explained my situation with my mother & she said she would be glad to help. She gave me her personal phone number in case I had any questions or issues. She worked with me while waiting for a copy of my mother's social security card. She was very professional and very helpful. She was also very knowledgeable about what was needed to move in. I really appreciate all of the help she gave. Most places just take your money & leave you to fend for yourself. Evelyn made my mother feel like she was coming home!!!

Was able to make a beautiful space for growing my finances & family. This place from the community to the staff has been nothing but welcoming and helpful during my journey here. There’s always something to do and people to do it with. Also without the assistance of Ms. Evelyn I don’t think this would’ve went as well as it did. She’s an instrumental piece of this place and one the greatest to do her job. I give 5 stars not because of the conditions of the community but because of the people in it as long as your clean you should be able to make a home here. One of the best kept secrets in Richmond, VA

If I can give this 0 stars I would. First of all it’s January 2026 and these bugs came out left and right. I’m assuming the reviews under here were beg for from staff because who in their right mind would live here and they catfish people into thinking this place was clean but it’s really not I’m young in my 20’s and they lied saying that the older people bringing used furniture is the problem why there is an infestation but that’s not true from my understanding this was going on before they brought the building in 2021. I will guarantee you that you will see the bed bugs and roaches everywhere within the first 2 months so enter at your own risk!!!

This place has gotten to be really bad since it's been turned into a multifamily community. It's not all on the younger adults either. There's a lot of senior citizens in my building that are very disrespectful and have no regard for anyone else because they smoke anywhere they want to smoke. The building I live in looks like an ashtray around the entire perimeter of the building. And you have residents that live here that steal people's packages. Lexington Realty only is putting people in here without doing any kind of check on them just so they can feel empty apartments and get that Almighty dollar. They don't care about anyone that lives here. So if I were you I'd find another place to go to don't come here because this place is trash
