Slumlords. I did not feel safe or respected while living there. I lived at 3270 LSD for 5 years, and each year things got worse, yet more expensive. The building is falling apart, and the company has a lot of turnover so things are clearly not managed well. They are trying to market themselves as “luxury,” but that means a lot more than a new coat of paint in the lobby. It means being attentive, proactive, and treating your tenants like valued customers. I had so many maintenance issues, and had to push every time to get them taken seriously. My apartment flooded after I reported an issue 3 times and was ignored. The floor had to be replaced, and it took 6 weeks. I bounced between hotels and friends houses while patiently waiting for the work to be done. I put in security cameras to make s
I've had an overall positive experience living with Wirtz, primarily due to all the lovely staff. They have always been accommodating and highly responsive. When searching for an apartment, I chose a unit that was undergoing renovations. Throughout the entire reno, they sent me continuous updates and photos. When I found out the cabinets were not going to be the color I initially expected, they went out of their way to work with me and find a finish that I would like. When I finally moved in, the apartment looked beautiful. While living here, maintenance was always on top of repair requests, and I never had an issue with management. My biggest complaint is that the appliances and fixtures are pretty cheap. The oven turns off at random while cooking and can't fit a full size baking sheet,
One start for the building engineers and staff who were wonderful. The property management is incredibly inept and unhelpful. Wirtz sold the building without any notice. There is no building staff to collect and take out the garbage from each floor(which smells pretty foul in the middle August), nor is there anyone to sign for packages-I had 2 that were just left outside overnight practically on the sidewalk. We were given no information on the new landlord and no information in regards to open maintenance requests, nothing. Also, the elevator breaks down at least 3 times a week. The company has gone way down hill and is basically as bad as Beal now.
We've lived at 3270 N. LSD for the past six years and I can't say enough good things about this place. I love the architectural details of the vintage apartments, including the parquet floors and beautiful moulding. We've been able to personalize our apartment with lighting, curtains, and paint and make it feel like our own. The management doesn't get any better. Ever person who works at this building is charming, professional, responsive, and caring. Concerns are addressed immediately. It would be hard to find a better team. We're only leaving because we're moving across the country to be closer to family. But I feel like I'm leaving family here at 3270 N. LSD.
When we first toured our Wirtz apartment, I remember being very impressed with the level of care that's put into maintaining a historic building on the lakefront. Now after three years of living here and seeing the effort that staff go through on a daily basis, it's certainly no surprise. My wife and I really appreciated all of their team's efforts, especially during covid, where thorough communication and detailed safety measures made the world of difference. Every repair that arose was also made exceptionally fast (its no wonder their buildings are so well kept). Building staff like Julian, Eddy, Randall, Shawn, Bulla and many others, also make it an absolute joy to walk into the building everyday. We've already recommended Wirtz to many friends, and we will continue to speak very wel
