Lakeland Presbyterian Apartments, Inc.

A resident on a mobility scooter arrived near my house with a dying battery. With help I got his scooter onto my truck and drove him to Presbyterian Apartments. When I got there the manager, who would not give me her name, refused to help me take his scooter down from my truck. She said call 911. Eventually I found two visitors help me take down the scooter. One of the staff threatened to call the police because I was trying to help a resident. What sort of care or concern is this?

I walked in for an application and as I was walking up there was a gentleman on one side of the glass and what looked like a Hispanic woman with short hair SCREAMING at the top of her lungs at him and the poor man looked so upset….needless to say I decided NOT to apply to live there cause I definitely don’t wanna give my money to an establishment that allows their people to yell at residents!!! Someone should call her boss!!!

Just moved in two weeks ago after 2.5 years on the waiting list. First of all, this is an INDEPENDENT living facility for seniors, not assisted. Having said that, there are many residents who seem to have their own daily caregivers who do their laundry, keep them company and take them to appointments. So I’m hoping to be able to end my days here with some private assistance paid for by me. The staff is EXTREMELY RESPONSIVE to any work orders and very friendly. They work 7 days a week 8-5. So of course the doors need to be locked after as it is right downtown. There is a call box to get in. If the place was staffed 24/7 the rent would go up exponentially-who wants that? I love it here and especially being downtown close to so many activities.

I have lived here 11 years now. I love the lake and water fowl we have here. We are only a few blocks away from downtown. The library is a short walk around the corner off Lake Morton, about 3 blocks. We have three churches in this area too, within walking distance. We have our own Hair Salon inside along with large laundry room. A library and exercise room, and dining room for get-togethers. Many games and programs to join. Movie nights and get togethers for food and fellowship. Bingo is ever Monday night! Come for a visit and look around.

Update: I guess the management had absolutely no reservations about replying in a very aggressive manner to my review about the property...yes,I clearly mentioned on my critique that the premises were not quite kept clean and that why the funky smells in the hallways were present!! So,now management is taking the "low" aggressive road and using the residents as a shield claiming that my comments insult the residents! 😔 This is really sad and unprofessional from a corporate management.
