I may give this company 1.5 stars … maybe. But honestly it all feels like a show. After our nightmare of a house buying experience (not our first rodeo but this purchase was the absolute worst) we finally thought we made it to the end of the tunnel. Then, this title company conveniently missed that we were supposed to have a home warranty purchased. Since the day of our signing was so crazy and our realtor wasn’t even present because it was so last minute, nobody caught it. Well, a couple weeks later we got a high temp warning on the freezer in our new kitchen. We couldn’t find the warranty info so we asked our realtor, who in turn emailed our contact, Mary B, at the title company. If I could give this company a zero I would but I had to put one star to do a review. My husband is a contractor and we do business with several local Hampton Roads realtors we did a job in May of 2023 and allowed the seller to pay us out of closing which we have never had an issue before with other closing companies. July came along still no payment. I emailed the realtor as well as the closing company they said they would send again. Then nothing again. Later they stated they would send overnight we got nothing. I received a picture of the delivered payment only it wasn't on our doorstep it was someone else's. They pulled an old (10 years prior) address from online somewhere even though the invoice clearly had the correct address and I emailed them the correct address as well prior to th

As much as the process to get paid was painful and 5 months after services were performed, I must say that we FINALLY received payment. I'm still hoping to not use this company again. If they would just communicate, it would make things a whole lot easier and better. Be careful when using this company!!!!!

This company ripped me off! Failed to pay me for a lengthy title search, then lied about sending payment. Similar complaint from other victims on the google reviews. Do not work for Mary or Lafayette Title, unless you want to work for free! And do not believe them whatever they say. I rate them a big fat ZERO!

Don’t return calls and lie about putting paperwork in the mail several times. This is a two person gig and not professionally at all. Stay away
