La Madera Apartments

I lived in these apartments for almost 2 years. When I applied, they told me they were going to give me a remodeled apartment. When move-in day arrived, the manager told me it wasn't ready, that she was going to give me one that was free but hadn't been remodeled and hadn't been cleaned. They told me that they were not going to charge anything because the tenant had previously paid. But when I moved they charge me $2250, that was a scam, I didn’t deserve to pay that much.

La Madera has one of the worst management. The people in the leasing office are very rude and very unprofessional. The apartments itself never worth the rent amount. If you need maintenanse, the leasig office does not care. It is never recommended to be rented at this time, rude management.Never recommended to waste your time and money dealing with La madera.

My unit was not clean and was poorly painted and carpeted when I received it. I gave up listing issues during the walk-thru when I noticed the manager Julia was only selectively notating what I was pointing out. The building (and whole complex, according to the terminix guy) has pest problem, as I immediately saw cockroaches on a once every two week basis. Manager Julia’s communication consistently leaves much to be desired, snide and cold in response and lackluster follow through. Once communicated pest control would come on 3/2 but then stayed home sick and no one was here for pest control to meet so no one’s units were treated. When confronted she promised to call with a rescheduled time and the sent pest control same day without prior notice, also having provided outdated information

This is a belated review. My partner may have removed one she posted earlier, not sure. I used to live at La Madera and it has a lot going for it. However after seeing an article which states (more than accusation) black females are evicted at a higher rate than any other group in King County, I was "triggered" because I remember a manager "J," (not sure she is still there but will probably retire with said property management off-site) profiled, harassed and bullied a black friend. J even called the police on my friend for no good reason. This was circa 2016 Trump Era, and J would be the equivalent of a Karen today. I hope this post doesn't bother non-blacks who have their own complaints. I can see by the reviews, management still sucks. What a waste of a view!

I wish I could give zero. The leasing office remains closed most of the time. The maintenance takes forever. I ordered to install windows screen and it took 4 months to arrive. The staff is unprofessional and rude. They give a damn about the residents. They do the move out inspection without you and will send a huge bill to your new address or refer you to collection agency.
