Kape Property Management

The only positive experience I had with Kape was being able to set up a same-day walk-through for an apartment. Unfortunately, everything after that was disappointing. I promptly submitted my application and followed up multiple times asking for an update, but I never received a response. While I understand I wasn’t selected for the apartment, simply communicating that would have been appreciated. I also called the phone number listed on their website multiple times and sent an email, yet I still never heard back. If this is how they handle prospective tenants, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to get timely responses for maintenance or other important issues. Overall, I’m very displeased with Kape’s lack of communication and professionalism.

From day one, Noam and Mitchell were responsive, professional, and genuinely helpful. Anytime I had a question or needed assistance, they were quick to respond and always handled things with care and respect. Recently, I needed to move out earlier than expected, and they went above and beyond to work with me during a stressful time. Not only did they guide me through the process with kindness, but they also helped coordinate a fair and reasonable solution with the property owner. I used to be the landlord of 527 W Hyde before it was sold to the current owners. Since the change in ownership, my experience as a tenant has been very disappointing. Please be cautious if you’re considering renting here. The building is quite old and has ongoing maintenance issues. While I was living there on a month-to-month basis (after my lease expired), my rent was raised without any notice—no email, no call, nothing. Additionally, the bathroom needed repairs, and I was charged $250 for maintenance that I did not authorize. When I eventually moved out, I left the apartment in excellent condition. Despite that, I only received $500 back from a $1,850 security deposit—and that was three months after I moved out. In my opinion, this property is not being managed transparently there

Overall great experience with Kape Property Management! Noam and team were always very quick to respond to service requests and completed work in a timely manner.

I saw and applied for a unit the day before rhe Oalisades Fire. The day of the fire, they increased the price of the unit by $1000 and two days later it’s now $2000 more vs the original post date. They keep on saying it was posted wrong which really they just want more money due to sudden need for housing in the area. Unit was great - nicely maintained. Shady management IMO.
