On the positive side, Karen Stephens was friendly, helpful, and offered guidance for a first-time homebuyer. On the negative side, she made a lot of little errors causing documents to need to be re-signed, would miss emails, was nearly always late to appointments, and we kept coming up right on top of deadlines even with plenty of prep time. She also invested significantly less energy once the agreement to buy was signed, to the point that when I asked what the likely fee would be for a closing attorney, she said I should Google it. On top of that, she repeatedly pushed for a particular mortgage broker that she works with, Jay Lewis at Towne Bank.
