I was living at 32nd St in North Park under Joe Carta Realty for about 4 years. Not every property management is perfect. My unit was updated and honestly, there was not much to complain about. Every time I submitted a maintenance request, they sent someone to come look at the issue. There were times that the trash was every where outside in the back, and when I sent a request they would get to it. In the second year of my tenancy, I got a therapy dog, and JCR didn't question me. Overall, as a tenant, I didn't have issues with JCR. Do they not answer phone calls, yes, but every time I texted them, they would answer. If I could give 0 stars I would. Not only will his fake smile lie to you, he will then ignore every single communication the day after signing. Believe nothing he says about any property. He has derailed my whole life with his fake promises and lack of accountability. You are better off going to get your own real estate license and find a place yourself. It will waste less time and money.

My wife and I rented through Joe Carta for 2 years. Lucreatria was our renting agent/property manager. Office ladies were always nice and helpful, no random intrusions LL always gave us notice before coming by. Landscaping and monthly pest control people were always great. When we moved out Lu asked us if there was any improvements we thought the property or rental service could improve on. Joe was easy to work with when we first moved in and with our initial move in date. Moving out was a breeze. I repair rental properties for a living and these seem like great people when it comes to caring about tenant living conditions. I would rent throuhh them again.

I am writing this review because we actually found great advice in a different review upon moving in, and I want other renters to be aware of it. After signing a lease, we reached out several times to get the keys. Joe's team either gave us a runaround answer or simply ignored our messages. Based on advice we read in another online review, we went in person to the leasing office a few days before our lease officially started. It was then that we found out our new house would not be ready by the lease start date. We were perplexed as to why this was never communicated despite us reaching out several times. We had to cancel our movers and scramble to find housing indefinitely due to the complete lack of communication from Joe and his team. Once we were actually able to get into the house,

We were looking for rental places and saw a very nice, if a bit expensive, place offered on High St in La Mesa. We called and left a message asking for more details about the property. When they called back, the realtor on the other end said some wild things. They wanted "a certain class of people", asked if we had kids because they didn't want kids on the property, nor dogs, and when we mentioned we have cats they asked us to SUBMIT PHOTOS OF THE CATS TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE APPROPRIATE FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD. Clearly, this is an elitist group who are the pinnacle of Patrick Bateman-esque yuppie classism. I'm actually glad they revealed who they were right away. I believe anyone who rents or buys from Joe Carta Realty should be aware of the NIMBY culture that this company encapsulates.
