Jamboree Management

When I first moved into this apartment, there was one price listed on their website and informational pamphlets, which I was expecting to pay. When I came to talk to the management people I was told "actually, we just raised it by $100 and haven't changed the website yet." After living here a year, rent was raised another $125. Looking at their website currently, apartments are going for another $50 more. How can rent go up by almost $300 in a year? I was okay with paying a premium (though it's starting to get ridiculous) for safety; these apartments are in a safe part of town and I was told there was security patrolling the parking lots at night. A few months ago a notice was put out that someone had a gun pulled on them in the parking lot. Multiple cars have been broken into this month.
