Independence Place Apartments

I rented from IP for a year while at Ft. Benning. The ladies in the office were always very nice and willing to help. The location made it easy to get on post quickly. The pond in the back is also a great feature to have if you are into fishing. Highly recommend checking it out.

TLDR/bottom line up front, IP is a good budget friendly place to live for ABOLC, IBOLC, or Triple C IF YOU LIVE BY YOURSELF OR NON-RANDOM ROOMATES! Rent, utilities, and internet usually ranges between 750$ and 800$ a month, depending on the season, for a two person unit. Pocketing half of your BAH has a price though. The grounds, ESPECIALLY THE BREEZEWAYS, are not well maintained, the pool is frequently closed for maintenance, both treadmills are out of order in the indoor "hotel" style gym, and the surrounding area outside of Lexington Hills and IP are not very safe. Despite these things, the ladies in the Leasing Office (Lauren, Kiara, and Dawn) are fantastic to work with, the path and Beaverfit gym down by the lake makes for a good walk and workout, the hills in the surrounding neighbo

I had a nice experience there, very nice staff make it quick and easy to adjust, the fully furnished areas make ppm moves super easy whether it is in processing or out processing, and it is relatively close to base, anything that I needed fixed got reasonably fixed and you feel very welcome there

This location is unpleasant and unclean!! From the walkway to the apartments, right up to your shared living areas, the conditions are poor. You will need to clean before you can move in your belongings and settle down. There is no way the cleaning fee charged at the end of each move-out is being used for the upkeep of the apartment. If you find yourself living here, inform your roommates that they must take all their possessions when they leave, as the last person is responsible for disposing of items such as clothes, dishes, pet supplies, food, mail, pictures, furniture, and more. Additionally, be aware that your bills may increase without any prior notice! Independence Place apartments in other states have stopped this practice of shared apartments and bills due to numerous complaints.

BEWARE LIVING HERE. CHEAP IS NOT ALWAYS GOOD. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS AND DON’T DO AUTOPAY!!! I lived here for a little over a year, and as you can tell from the picture, the property doesn’t get cleaned at all. There isn’t any security on the property. Before the gate guards were let go, there were 11 break-ins ( mostly in people’s cars) in one month. If you have to live here do it without any roommates. The last person is charged for ALL ITEMS INSIDE OF THE APARTMENT ($25 per item) THAT ARE LEFT INSIDE EVEN FROM PREVIOUS ROOMMATES ( in my case previous tenants that left before I moved in).
