Highland Manor Senior Apartments

My mother recently moved into the Highland Manor, senior apartments in Cumming. Since she’s been there, the manager there Melicia allowed a frail, elderly woman to move in with a giant aggressive dog that is terrorizing the entire complex. This is not a service dog, and goes against the rules of the lease… she complained to this manager there 6 weeks ago and nothing has been done. My mother had to go buy mace to make her feel safe to walk the premises. There are also maintenance issues that are not being taken care of because the maintenance man has been out ill for weeks. Unfortunate, because she loves the apartment. I wish that we had known about these things before she moved in. She’s not happy at all, and it all could have been great if the manager wasn’t allowing this one person to

I have called Highland Manor 8 times since 02/20.No one ever answers. I booked 2 online appointments as well. No one was there. I showed up one day unexpectedly and rang the intercom. A woman answered and said she was in a meeting. She said she would call me when the meeting was over. She never called. I was so angry I called the owner/parent company United Apartment Group. I had to leave a message there and no one called me from there either. I'm so disappointed. Trying to get info for my mom on this nice looking place but I wouldn't trust the terrible management there.

My lifelong friend is waiting and will hopefully move into Highland Manor on July 1st. The new staff member Patty has been exceptional to work with. My friend Amt Day has nothing but good things to say about Patty and her professionalism The property is beautiful. As Amy was inside working with Patty I walked around the property and the property and surrounding area are just beautiful, well-maintained shrubbery and grass and annual flowers have been planted, etc. I'm trying Amy has the chance to live at Highland Manor. The new office manager Malicia is a pleasure to work with. She answers all questions, is able to fix and address all the issues the last managers were not able to fix. She is kind to all the residents and hopefully we can count on her being with us for a long time.

Beware of this company when you move out. Don't expect your deposit refund within 30 days as promised. 3 months later, they are still processing mine or so they say. I was told by Patty in August that it is being processed & again in September was told the same thing. I was told by Melicia she would check into it. 90 day laters & I'm still waiting. Numerous communication attempts with no response. 4 office managers within a year. Good luck if you are a senior like me on disability getting your deposit back.
