Heritage at New Riverside by Smith Family Homes

This company tears down 95 percent of the trees to develop its homes. Just look at the Landsat of their subdivisions ravaging the Low Country. I’m not sure why anyone would want an ordinary home with a stick planted in their new front yard. Pathetic

We built our house about 2 years ago. That was a process to begin with with multiple delays, lies about contracts, and just poor management and professionalism. Houses are poorly and quickly built. As you can see from the most recent reviews, there is almost no maintenance and no action by the builder and the HOA. Both claim the other is responsible. Pot holes are getting worse (there is a review from over 2 years ago about them on here and still nothing has been done). Landscaping also has not taken place. We were told when we built that the lagoon behind our house would be landscaped and maintained. It has been 2 years and the black silt fences are still up and the weeds are over 6ft. Something needs to be done and someone has to be responsible.

We live in Heritage at New Riverside and Smith Family Homes still controls our HOA board as the declarant. They have hired Superior Management Services to manage the HOA. Neither Smith Family Homes nor Superior management take any accountability for the run down condition of our neighborhood. They either blame each other or some unsuspecting scapegoat as to why we have been waiting since FEBRUARY for potholes to be fixed. They are unresponsive and unable to provide a timeline. Our entrances have been in disrepair since NOVEMBER 2021 while they continue to blame it on the contractor who did work there last fall. First they claimed the irrigation needed repair but have since admitted that’s been done and they (Smith) don’t know why the entrance haven’t been replanted and spruced up. We hav

My Daughter was under contract with this builder and what a disaster! The project manager Brian was rude and unprofessional. The owner Stephen was not much better. It's all about the money. They looked for any reason to cancel the contract and sell the house for more money to another buyer. It was simply a disgrace! I am a builder in NJ and when I drove through this community older section looked like a 3rd world country!

Very good experience purchasing this home in a lovely family community. Promises kept and minor issue resolved in a timely manner. Thank you Scott, Beth, Edwin.
