Don't give this company your money. Run the other way. Mark is the worse. He takes forever to get back to you and he will lie to you. Beware

Mark is a phenomenal landlord! He really cares about his properties and is incredibly prompt with fixing any issues. I absolutely love the house I’ve been renting from him for past 1.5 years. Highly recommend H-Co properties!

Mark seems cool at first, but he is very rude, condescending, and foul. He will take advantage of tenants if you let him. We moved out with the home clean, paid for professional assistance, and documented everything with photos and videos. When he saw the home after it was cleaned he stated it was satisfactory. Despite that, they kept our security deposit well past the 30-day legal deadline and failed to return our money. They attempted to add extra charges they couldn’t explain or support with any photos or proof. Since we lived there less than three years, we legally cannot be charged for normal wear and tear like paint turnover. Because they refused to follow the law, we’re now forced to take this matter to court. Know your rights—don’t stay silent, and don’t let companies like this k

Mark Heizer is a real class act (sarcasm intended). He is very rude and unprofessional. I’ve had 2 phone conversations with him regarding maintenance issues. He does not let you speak without cutting you off. I called to get an update about my maintenance request where I have water running out of my dishwasher onto my kitchen floor. I could not get a word in edgewise. And he hung up on me when I tried to ask questions. You can best believe that this tenant will be relocating. I refuse to continue paying my hard earned money to support him or his business.

Contemplated renting a home in the Durham area. After speaking with Mark for just a few minutes over the phone I decided to look at other places. It was just a very unpleasant experience for me. I am so gratified to see that others had similar encounters - I thought maybe I was judging him unfairly. I WAS NOT! Perhaps he doesn't realize how rude his phone manner is. I'm not surprised the location I considered is still available after several months. Honestly, I was so upset after dealing with him, we decided to remain in the home we are in now.
