Gables of Cornerstone

My experience living at the gables was amazing, Mecha the apartment manager was helpful whenever I needed something or had questions about anything. The maintenance team was always fast to respond to all requests normally getting the issues dealt with on the same day. Had I not moved to a different state for work I would have called the gables home for a very long time. If you are in the Lynchburg area I highly recommend the gables and Mecha for your apartment living search you won’t be disappointed.

My experience with the new management at the Gables of Cornerstone has not been great ever since they took over for Grace Properties. The air filters are not replaced on a regular basis. They send emails out every so often communicating that they will be coming in to complete preventive maintenance inspections or to check the water meters, but they never show up. Recently, the property manager sent out an offer to renew your lease within 60-90 days and you would receive $100 for your household. I contacted our property manager, Brittnea, to take advantage of this offer. She said she would send over the lease for us to sign, but we have yet to receive it. I currently live at The Gables of Cornerstone in Lynchburg, Virginia and I cannot even begin to explain how disappointed I’ve been in my experience with your management company. We have reached out to our property manager, Brittany, at least four times now, attempting to get our lease signed. Anytime contact is made we are told there are “IT issues” preventing the lease from being sent out, yet there has been zero initiation on her end to apologize or ensure that she is handling the issue. We have attempted to visit the office in person and have yet to see her there during normal business hours. The units and location are incredible. 10/10 in that regard. I've lived here continuously for 4 years and love living here. When the property was owned by Grace Properties, I sung their praises to everyone I knew. I felt like I lived in one of the best locations with the best property management. However, the management quality and communication has TANKED after selling out to a larger, out-of-state management company. They have had terrible communication (one example: neither my roommate or I have received a copy of our lease after SIX requests to various individuals), messed up our water bill schedule and are demanding back payment from April (6 months ago), and have been almost impossible to get ahold of via phone. Absolute worse apartment complex ever. It’s impossible to get in contact with management and they charged us for things that weren’t apart of our lease. Also, when we first moved in, our units AC was broken and they took forever to fix it and promised to reimburse us for the insane electric charge, yet they never did. Take my advice and stay away from this place. Absolutely the worst management.
